What if your analytical skills could help Alzheimer’s Society understand the difference our work makes?

About the role

As our Junior Impact Analyst, you’ll use data and insight to help us understand our impact and improve what we do for people affected by dementia. You’ll work across the span of the Society’s work, including Services, Influencing and Campaigning, and Research. You’ll help us understand change at different levels, from individuals, families and communities through to local and national systems.

You’ll join our Impact & Evaluation Team and work alongside experienced Impact Analysts and colleagues across the Society. You’ll contribute to larger projects and lead on smaller pieces of work, with guidance and support as you develop your skills.

A key focus of the role will be supporting our work on Social Outcomes Contracts. This will include monitoring agreed reporting measures, bringing together data from delivery partners and health systems, and analysing whether services are contributing to outcomes such as fewer avoidable hospital admissions or reduced pressure on health and care services. You won’t need to be an expert in Social Outcomes Contracts, but you should have an awareness of how outcomes and impact evidence can be used to show how services are making a difference for individuals and systems.

You’ll work with both quantitative and qualitative data. You’ll help turn information into clear insights that people can use to learn, plan and make decisions.

Your work could include developing and testing surveys and other data collection tools. You might explore internal and external data to understand outcomes and impact. You’ll also create reports, presentations and visualisations that make findings accessible to different audiences.

Could this be the opportunity to develop your analytical skills while helping us understand the difference we make?

Contract: This is a 2-year fixed term contract

Interviews are provisionally scheduled to take place on the 2nd and 3rd December via MS Teams.

What you’ll do

You’ll work across a varied range of impact and evaluation activity. You’ll:

  • Support the development and use of impact measurement frameworks, tools and approaches.
  • Support monitoring, analysis and reporting for our Social Outcomes Contracts work
  • Help design and test surveys, questionnaires and other data collection tools.
  • Gather, analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data from internal and external sources.
  • Explore data to understand reach, experiences, outcomes and impact across different communities and groups.
  • Create clear reports, presentations, dashboards and data visualisations for different audiences.
  • Support colleagues to use impact measurement approaches through practical guidance and resources.
  • Manage smaller pieces of work and contribute to larger projects, keeping activity organised and on track.
  • Share learning and ideas with colleagues to help improve how we measure and use evidence across the Society.

You’ll also have the opportunity to work with colleagues and people affected by dementia. You’ll help make sure our approach to impact measurement is practical, proportionate and inclusive.

About you

Are you curious about data and interested in understanding the difference organisations can make?

You’ll have some experience of monitoring, outcomes & impact measurement or related analytical activity. You’ll be interested in using evidence to understand what is working and where things could be improved.

Do you enjoy finding the story behind the data and making your findings easy for others to understand? Do you enjoy looking at data and asking, “What does this tell us?”

You’ll be comfortable working with quantitative and/or qualitative data and communicating what you find. You’ll also understand how outcomes and impact measurement can support learning and better decision-making.

You might be a great fit for this role if you:

  • Have experience of monitoring, outcomes & impact measurement or related analytical activity.
  • Can analyse quantitative and/or qualitative data and communicate your findings clearly.
  • Understand outcomes and impact measurement and how evidence can support learning and decision-making.
  • Understanding of, or interest in, how impact can be measured at a systems level
  • Enjoy producing clear reports, presentations or data visualisations for different audiences.
  • Can manage defined pieces of work or small-scale projects and deliver them to agreed timescales.
  • Are organised and able to manage your priorities while keeping work accurate and on track.
  • Enjoy working with different people and explaining information in a clear, accessible way.

What could you bring to a team that’s helping Alzheimer’s Society understand the difference our work makes?

If you’re excited by the chance to develop your analytical skills, learn from experienced colleagues and use data to support better decisions, we’d love to hear from you.

About Alzheimer's Society - who are we and what’s our mission?

Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer. One in three people born in the UK today will develop dementia in their lifetime.

At Alzheimer’s Society, we’re the UK’s leading dementia charity and the only one to tackle all aspects of dementia by giving help and hope to people living with dementia today and in the future. We give vital support to people facing the most frightening times of their lives, while also funding ground-breaking research and campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be.

Together with our supporters, we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.

Our values make sure that our focus is clear for the challenges and opportunities ahead and remind us of what we all stand for.

Our commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging

We need to ensure the voices around our table better reflect and understand the communities we exist to serve. We strongly encourage individuals to apply who have a disability, impairment or health condition or individuals who identify as part of a minority ethnic background, as these groups are currently under-represented at Alzheimer's Society.

Our hiring process

We want you to bring your whole self to the process. Applications are anonymised until interview stage, and we’re happy to support any adjustments. Share your feedback via our candidate survey when applying to help us improve. We may close early if we receive high interest (with 48 hours’ notice). Some roles may require a DBS check as part of our safer recruitment commitment. Thinking about using AI during the recruitment process? we know this can be helpful in many ways but remember to include your personal and authentic self too. Your voice and experience are what really set you apart.

Giving back to you

At Alzheimer’s Society, we value our people and take a total reward approach to pay and benefits. You’ll enjoy a generous double-matched pension scheme, 27 days’ annual leave (plus bank holidays and wellbeing days), and access to a free Health Shield Cash Plan, 24/7 EAP, Thrive mental wellbeing support, and virtual GP services. Our Society Plus platform offers exclusive discounts, wellbeing resources, and recognition schemes, while our flexible working, family-friendly policies, and life assurance provide peace of mind and work/life balance. We also offer a free Will-writing service and long service awards to recognise your ongoing commitment.
