Role Overview: Workato Developer (Mid-Level)
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Workato Developer to design, build, and maintain integrations and automation solutions across our business systems. In this role, you will take ownership of end-to-end integration processes using the Workato iPaaS platform, working closely with cross-functional teams to streamline data flow and operational efficiency.
This is a hands-on technical role ideal for someone with strong experience in integration development who is ready to step into a broader ownership role without the full leadership responsibilities of a senior consultant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integration Development: Design and implement robust, scalable Workato recipes and automation workflows across multiple platforms and business units.
- Optimization & Enhancement: Maintain and enhance existing integrations to ensure reliability, performance, and business alignment.
- API Integration: Connect systems via REST, SOAP, and other APIs; manage authentication, data mapping, and error handling.
- Testing & Deployment: Perform unit and system testing; assist with deployment and version control of integrations.
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear technical documentation for integrations, recipes, and processes.
- Collaboration: Work with product managers, analysts, architects, and QA teams to understand business needs and translate them into effective integration solutions.
- Best Practices: Contribute to integration standards, reusability patterns, and Workato platform governance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: 5–10 years in integration development, including 2–5 years of hands-on Workato experience.
- Workato Expertise: Strong knowledge of Workato connectors, recipe logic, variables, error handling, and advanced features such as lookup tables, callable recipes, and Workato REST API.
- API Skills: Proficient in building and consuming REST and SOAP APIs; experience with OAuth2 and API keys.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Solid understanding of JSON, XML, and data transformation techniques.
- Experience with SQL and working with relational databases.
- Scripting knowledge in JavaScript, Python, or Ruby for custom logic in recipes.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and debugging skills with a focus on root cause analysis and automation efficiency.
- Communication: Ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams; comfortable explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications:Workato Technical Developer and Technical Architect required (or willing to complete within 60 days).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with systems such as Salesforce, NetSuite, ServiceNow, Workday, or other major SaaS platforms.
- Experience working in CI/CD environments or using version control for integration deployments.
- Agile/Scrum experience.
- Exposure to enterprise architecture and broader automation tools is a plus.
