About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Fullstack Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This fully remote role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere within the US Pacific or Mountain time zones. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction of large-scale product features, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, secure, and reliable software solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers and designers to influence product strategy and enhance user experiences. Your expertise will be vital in guiding the development of distributed systems and microservices architecture, utilizing your extensive background in enterprise-grade solutions. This role provides an excellent opportunity to mentor and elevate your teammates' skills while contributing to the growth and excellence of our engineering organization.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience designing and building enterprise-grade solutions using microservices architecture
  • Proficiency in Java and Kotlin programming languages
  • Strong knowledge of observability tools and service operations
  • In-depth understanding of AWS cloud offerings and services
  • Experience developing distributed systems for SaaS products
  • Ability to recognize, address, and reconcile gaps and redundancies across organizational teams
  • Proven success in cross-company collaboration and influencing engineering teams
  • Experience in performance coaching and mentoring engineers
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on correctness, robustness, performance, and customer impact
  • Knowledge of security best practices, performance engineering, and design principles

Responsibilities

  • Understand the user journey and user funnel to inform product development
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to influence product strategy and roadmap
  • Guide the technical implementation of large-scale features, ensuring scalability and maintainability
  • Evaluate trade-offs between correctness, robustness, performance, and customer impact to deliver optimal solutions
  • Debug and resolve inefficiencies within the team, improving overall development processes
  • Ship well-tested, secure, reliable, and maintainable code aligned with customer needs
  • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and complex bug fixes with a focus on security, performance, and reliability
  • Mentor teammates, sharing expertise to foster skill development and team growth
  • Identify and remove blockers to engineering excellence, including adherence to design principles, best practices, and security standards
  • Promote continuous improvement in engineering practices and team collaboration
