Job Description

Posted on: May 20, 2026

About Us For over 10 years we’ve partnered with Canada’s largest banks to help 1000+ corporate clients simplify and scale their mass payouts to drive business outcomes. Our branded money programs are used to pay people rewards, commissions, shopper rebates, insurance benefits, goodwill campaign, emergency funding, and more. We’re a growing company and our employees enjoy engaging and interactive work, challenging career opportunities and a collaborative team-based culture. We offer a casual work environment, competitive salaries, excellent health and dental benefits and more. We also offer opportunities and support for ongoing learning, growth, and career development. Berkeley is centrally located in downtown Toronto. Job Description This is a remote position. About Us: Berkeley Payments is a leading payment technology provider specializing in innovative solutions for businesses to manage and process payments seamlessly. We power prepaid card and disbursement programs for some of Canada's largest enterprises, including major banks, payroll providers, and government programs, alongside 400+ generic card programs. We pride ourselves on combining deep payments expertise with modern technology to help our clients launch and scale payment programs that would otherwise take years to build. Role Overview: We are looking for a high-impact Senior Manager, Client Implementation to lead how Berkeley brings new client programs to life. This is the operational engine room for client delivery at Berkeley. You will master a high-volume client onboarding portfolio of approximately 20 active programs at any time, ranging from net-new enterprise launches to program expansions on Berkeley's existing client base. You will be the single accountable owner for the delivery of every client implementation, leading a team of Implementation Managers and Project Managers, and shifting the culture toward accountable project governance and predictable go-lives. This role sits at the intersection of project management, payments product expertise, and client relationship management. You will translate complex client requirements into configured programs, navigate the approval workflows of issuing banks and processors, and ensure that what we promised in the sales cycle actually ships. You will also be the operational voice that pushes back when scope, timeline, or compliance reality demands it. This is not a process-only PM role. You need to understand prepaid card programs deeply enough to make tradeoff decisions in front of clients, and you need the operational discipline to keep multi-party, multi-month implementations on track. Key Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Ownership: Manage the health and delivery of all active client implementations, providing a single source of truth on project status, risk, and timeline to executive leadership.
  • Time-to-Revenue: Own the Time-to-Revenue (TTR) metric across the implementation portfolio. Drive it down through better process, better tooling, and earlier risk identification.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of Implementation Managers and Project Managers. Set standards for delivery quality, client communication, and operational rigor.
  • Program Configuration: Oversee the configuration of card programs on Berkeley's platform, including card products, fee structures, BIN range allocation, transaction rules, and disbursement workflows. Maintain enough technical fluency to make tradeoff calls without escalating every decision to engineering.
  • Bank & Partner Integration: Own the relationship with Berkeley's issuing bank counterparts. Streamline program submission and bank onboarding workflows. Drive faster, cleaner approvals through better preparation and stronger relationships.
  • Processor Coordination: Coordinate processor configuration and certification for new programs, working closely with internal engineering and external processor implementation teams.
  • Client Stakeholder Management: Serve as the senior Berkeley point of contact for enterprise clients during implementation. Manage executive stakeholders, surface risks early, and make scope and timeline tradeoffs with clients directly.
  • Governance & RACI: Enforce Berkeley's RACI framework and the Cat 1/2/3 Solutioning Model. Protect product and engineering capacity from unscoped implementation pull-through.
  • Mandatory Gates: Enforce the Funds Protection Sign-Off and any other compliance gates as non-negotiable prerequisites for go-live. Hold the line when commercial pressure pushes for shortcuts.
  • Sales Partnership: Partner with Sales and Product to ensure deals we sign are deals we can deliver. Provide pre-sale feasibility input on complex or non-standard programs.
  • Compliance Partnership: Partner with Compliance to ensure each implementation meets FINTRAC, PCMLTFR, and PCI requirements before launch.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and remove systemic delivery bottlenecks. Build and maintain implementation playbooks, project plans, and status reporting frameworks that scale as Berkeley grows.
  • Internal Programs: Contribute to internal transformation programs as a delivery partner, including Berkeley's processor migration and AI-driven operational initiatives. Lead workstreams where appropriate.
  • Post-Launch Changes: Operate as the operational owner of post-launch program changes for live enterprise clients, including new card products, fee changes, and configuration updates.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of project management, client onboarding, or implementation leadership experience within FinTech, payments, or financial services. Payments experience is non-negotiable.
  • Direct hands-on experience implementing card programs, payment programs, or banking products for enterprise clients.
  • Proven track record managing complex, multi-party implementations involving banks, processors, networks, and enterprise client stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated people management experience leading implementation, project management, or delivery teams.
  • Working knowledge of the Canadian prepaid card ecosystem, including BIN sponsorship models, FINTRAC and PCMLTFR obligations, and network rules (Mastercard preferred).
  • Strong understanding of how card programs are configured operationally: fees, limits, KYC tiers, transaction controls, dispute flows, and reporting.
  • Technical fluency. Deep enough understanding of API-based integrations, payment rails, and processor workflows to manage technical deliverables credibly within an engineering environment.
  • Process mastery. Expert-level command of project management tools (Jira, Confluence) and frameworks.
  • Exceptional executive communication. Able to hold the room with C-level enterprise client stakeholders and earn their confidence.
  • Strong written communication. Status reports, risk escalations, and implementation playbooks must be clear, concise, and defensible.
  • Operational discipline. Able to run a portfolio of approximately 20 concurrent implementations without dropping balls or burning the team out.
  • Comfort pushing back. Willing to tell clients, sales, and senior leadership when timelines or scope are unrealistic, with the substance to back it up.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

What We Offer: At Berkeley Payments, we believe in creating an environment where our team members can thrive both professionally and personally. As a part of our team, you’ll benefit from:
