We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in the aged care and NDIS sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, particularly with payroll processing, invoicing, and claims management. This role is essential to ensure the accuracy of financial records and compliance with industry standards.
Role Description
This is a part-time and remote role for a Bookkeeper (Aged Care and NDIS). The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing bookkeeping tasks, preparing financial statements, managing journal entries, and utilising accounting software to support day-to-day financial operations. The role also involves ensuring compliance with financial regulations and supporting the financial needs of aged care and NDIS clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll for staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Maintain payroll records and handle inquiries related to payroll.
- Prepare and issue invoices to clients and funding bodies, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Manage claims submissions to NDIS and other relevant funding bodies, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
- Track and reconcile claims, resolving any discrepancies as necessary.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Maintain organised financial records, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- Implement and maintain financial controls and processes.
- Work closely with the management team to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in the aged care or NDIS sector.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, Zoho) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, invoicing, and claims management.
- Proficiency in Bookkeeping and preparing Journal Entries
- Experience with Financial Statements and general finance-related tasks
- Competence in using Accounting Software and related tools
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Experience in aged care or NDIS-related bookkeeping is an advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
