About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Full Stack Engineer to join our Product Security team on a remote basis. This contract position focuses on developing and enhancing Heimdall, our internal vulnerability metrics and dashboard platform designed to provide critical security insights. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in full lifecycle software development, with a strong emphasis on security and vulnerability management. You will be responsible for translating complex requirements, UI mockups, and technical specifications into robust, scalable solutions that bolster our internal security posture. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of software engineering and cybersecurity, contributing directly to the security and integrity of Cloudera’s products and services. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 5-7 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, with a focus on security and vulnerability remediation preferred
- Proficiency in at least two programming languages such as Python, Go, TypeScript, or React JS
- Experience with vulnerability management tools including Aquasec, CVE triaging, and JIRA ticketing system
- Hands-on experience with containerization and CI/CD tools like Docker, Maven, SonarQube, Harness, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions
- Familiarity with relational databases such as Postgres or RDS
- Understanding of cloud technologies, particularly Kubernetes and AWS
- Experience contributing to open-source projects is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex security issues in large-scale systems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across cross-functional teams
- Experience with large-scale software development, testing, and deployment processes
Responsibilities
- Gain comprehensive understanding of Cloudera’s product ecosystem and development lifecycle, identifying areas for security improvements
- Design and develop tooling, frameworks, and proof-of-concept solutions to improve vulnerability detection, remediation, and developer productivity
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI/ML tools to expedite CVE remediation efforts
- Collaborate with the product security team to evaluate and enhance existing security tools such as SCA, SAST, DAST, and integrate these into CI/CD pipelines
- Develop proactive dependency management strategies to reduce vulnerability exposure
- Define and enforce SLAs for CVE management, ensuring accountability and timely resolution
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality engineering, release engineering, and customer support to implement security best practices
- Participate in regular reporting on CVE debt reduction, SLA adherence, and key security metrics
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the security and engineering teams
