Position: Creative Tech Engineer – AI Research Contributor (Media & Communications)

Type: Hourly Contract (Remote)

Compensation: $50–$70/hour (USD)

Location: Remote

Duration: 10–20 hrs/week for 1–2 months (extension possible)

Start Date: Mid to Late August

Requirements

  • Strong professional experience building or supporting creative software or digital content pipelines
  • Experience in industries such as media, entertainment, marketing tech, or digital design
  • Hands-on familiarity with platforms like Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Unreal Engine, or media asset management (MAM/DAM) tools
  • Practical knowledge of design workflows, rendering systems, creative automation, or VFX/post-production tools
  • Strong communication skills and ability to document technical systems clearly
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Media Technology, Interaction Design, or a related field (or equivalent creative engineering experience)
  • Access to a desktop or laptop computer (no Chromebooks)

Role

  • Write and refine prompt-based tasks that train AI systems to understand real-world workflows in design, media production, and creative collaboration
  • Use your experience in creative tech to simulate realistic scenarios across asset pipelines, rendering tools, campaign management, and cross-functional content development
  • Evaluate large language model (LLM) outputs for technical accuracy, creative feasibility, and workflow relevance
  • Participate in an AI interview to demonstrate your experience supporting creative professionals through tooling, scripting, or automation
  • Work independently and asynchronously in collaboration with Mercor’s AI research partners
