Job Description

Posted on: May 5, 2026

Do you possess the ability to analyze the intricate layers of a Shakespearean sonnet or deconstruct a word's phonetic composition with precision? Picture applying that depth of linguistic and literary knowledge alongside advanced AI to revolutionize how millions of students achieve mastery in language and literature. At 2 Hour Learning, we're not simply shaping the future of English instruction—we're engineering it into an adaptive, immersive learning journey. We're looking for a forward-thinking professional to spearhead our initiative in reshaping English and Language Arts education through sophisticated data analysis, pioneering AI integration, and comprehensive subject expertise. Your objective? To accelerate student comprehension of language fundamentals and literary analysis by a factor of two, spanning from foundational phonics through advanced literary critique. At 2 Hour Learning, we're reimagining K-12 education with measurable outcomes. Our AI-powered learning platform is revolutionizing student achievement, allowing learners to master content at double the pace of conventional education. We're not adjusting the existing framework; we're reconstructing it entirely, backed by concrete evidence of effectiveness. Students on our platform routinely score 4s and 5s on five or more AP examinations, exhibit growth exceeding two years on annual MAP assessments, and surpass their own preconceived limits of achievement. If you're prepared to channel extensive ELA knowledge into an AI-driven system with validated success, submit your application today. What You Will Be Doing

  • Examine student performance data across reading and writing—including Reel engagement metrics, MAP scores, and assessment outcomes—leveraging AI workflows and LLM orchestrations to pinpoint learning deficiencies and create focused interventions. (Approximately 40% of your time allocation.)
  • Building AI-enhanced tools that customize instruction to individual learning preferences, making grammar comprehensible, vocabulary acquisition engaging, and literary analysis attainable for students across proficiency levels.
  • Creating adaptive learning sequences that adjust dynamically, shepherding students from phonics fundamentals through complex text interpretation, ensuring every learner advances at their ideal rate.
  • Collaborate with subject experts, assessment professionals, and AI engineers to ensure content alignment with curriculum frameworks and verify the accuracy of AI-produced instructional materials.
  • Converting canonical and modern literature into interactive, AI-enriched learning experiences that both educate and inspire students' enthusiasm for reading and composition.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Overseeing conventional English curricula or performing administrative duties—this position centers on innovation and strategic enhancement of language arts instruction and learning within our accelerated framework.
  • Manually grading numerous essays — AI manages assessment volume, allowing you to concentrate on system refinement rather than paper evaluation.
  • Teaching toward standardized test preparation — students at this institution already exceed AP performance standards, enabling you to invest effort in enriching mastery rather than rehearsing for compliance.

Instructional Designer Key Responsibilities Drive accelerated student mastery of English and Language Arts across all grade levels, achieving 2x the learning velocity of conventional instruction methods. Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Literature, Linguistics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience teaching English/Language Arts or developing ELA curriculum, with demonstrable impact on learning outcomes
  • Formal coursework in learning sciences, or 2+ years applying learning science principles in educational product or content development.
  • Basic coding abilities in any programming language
  • Experience designing, implementing, or using AI systems for tasks such as content generation, data analysis, or adaptive learning using the LLM APIs.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and derive actionable insights from it
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex English/Language Arts concepts to diverse stakeholders in a professional setting
