Generalist AI Trainer @ Mercor

Pay for this role is USD $80–$100 per hour (approximately AUD $110–$135, depending on exchange rates). Final compensation may vary based on experience.

In this role, you will evaluate AI-generated responses and provide structured written feedback. This is a great opportunity for sharp, analytical thinkers to contribute to high-impact AI research projects.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a top-100 globally ranked university preferred
• Strong analytical and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed task guidelines

Required Skills

• Strong critical reading skills, with the ability to identify nuance, implicit meaning, and gaps in reasoning
• Ability to write clear, precise, and well-evidenced rationales that go beyond surface-level observations
• Consistent and honest judgment, including the ability to provide critical assessments when warranted
• Strong attention to detail and accurate application of structured evaluation guidelines
• Ability to complete work without the use of AI writing tools

Eligibility

• Native English fluency required
• Candidates based in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand are preferred

Contract and Payment Terms

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor
• This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule
• Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on business needs and performance
• Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution
• Payments are made weekly via Stripe or Wise based on services rendered
