Specification Sales Manager - Construction & Engineering | £55,000 - £65,000 We're working with a leading independent engineering specialist known for high staff retention and market-leading district heating solutions on this exciting opportunity. Are you a high-performing sales expert looking to dominate the utilities and district heating space? We are seeking a proactive Specification Sales Manager to drive national expansion for an engineering powerhouse, focusing on large-scale accounts and long-term project specifications. The Role

  • Drive significant business growth by securing new contracts across the UK, specifically targeting district heating, cooling, and pump infrastructure projects.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle from initial specification with consultants and contractors to closing high-value commercial deals.
  • Collaborate closely with the internal engineering and sales teams to ensure top-tier account management and technical accuracy.
  • Navigate complex engineering requirements to provide tailored utility solutions for major construction developments.
  • Autonomously manage your national diary, visiting customer sites across the UK to build face-to-face relationships and secure 2026 pipeline growth.

What You'll Need

  • Proven track record in Specification Sales or Business Development within District Heating, Pumps, Utilities, or HVAC sectors.
  • Strong technical aptitude in engineering or construction, with the ability to discuss complex utility systems with consultants and engineers.
  • Experience in a high-activity "New Business" environment with a hunter mentality and a desire to significantly increase turnover.
  • Full UK driving license and the flexibility to travel nationally to meet clients and visit project sites.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage long-lead-time project cycles and high-value tenders.
