Disability Access and/or Building Regulation Consultant

Role Description

This is a Contract/ Casual role for a Code based Disability Access Consultant &/or BCA & Building regulation Consultant. Part time positions also available for the right candidate

The consultant will be responsible for providing expertise and guidance on BCA & Disability Access Regulations, conducting site assessments, developing accessibility plans, and training staff on accessibility requirements.

Qualifications

Proficient in understanding and applying the Building Code of Australia (BCA), including Part D4, E and F (as applicable)

• Knowledge of disability access regulations and guidelines (BCA Volume 1 2022 including amendments, AS1428.1-2009 & AS1428.1-2021 , 2890.6, DAPS and relevant secondary referenced standards)
• Experience in conducting site assessments and developing accessibility plans and performance solutions
• Training skills to educate clients on accessibility requirements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• Relevant certification, training and understanding in application of the Building Code of Australia and Disability access considerations
• Experience working with architectural plans and building designs.
• Must have an A class license and be an Australian Resident

Experience

We are looking for candidates with relevant experience in BCA and disability access consulting, architecture, or building design. Applicants must have at least a foundational understanding of NSW legislation and the application of the BCA to NSW development.

Tertiary qualifications are beneficial but not essential where equivalent experience is demonstrated.

Work is offered on a job-by-job basis, providing flexibility and autonomy, with genuine potential to grow into a full-time role as the business expands. Renumeration

Remuneration will be structured to reflect the candidate’s skills and experience, inclusive of casual loading and superannuation. Arrangements may be negotiated for the right candidate.
