Senior Software Engineer

Lorien are partnering with an exciting start up as they build an exciting platform from the ground up and they are going through an exciting period of growth.

We’re supporting them in hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help shape the technical vision and build scalable, AI-powered solutions from the ground up. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work across the stack, solve real customer problems, and play a key part in their growth journey.

What You’ll Do

• Backend Development: Build and maintain scalable APIs and services using Python (FastAPI), integrating with AI models and data platforms.
• Frontend Development: Develop responsive, high-performance user interfaces with React/Next.js.
• AI Integration: Connect to LLMs and ML services (e.g., OpenAI, AWS Bedrock), supporting prompt engineering, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Data Engineering: Handle structured and unstructured data, build ingestion pipelines, and design efficient schemas (Postgres/NoSQL).
• Architecture & Design: Influence technical decisions and contribute to scalable, modular system design.
• Code Quality: Promote best practices in testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and documentation.
• Innovation: Explore and recommend new tools, frameworks, and approaches in full-stack and AI development.

Experience:

• 5+ years in full-stack development
• Strong skills in Python, React/Next.js, and cloud (AWS)
• Experience with AI/ML APIs, vector search, and data engineering
• AWS and containerised deployments (Docker & ECS)
• Solid understanding of secure coding and data privacy
• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset and great communication

*The role is on a remote basis with candidates must reside and have full right to work status in the UK.
