Financial Controller

Meroda Cosmetics is a fast-growing, globally distributed cosmetics brand, selling across multiple channels. As we scale, we are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our finance team for 4-5 days per week. This role is critical in ensuring financial governance, accuracy, and audit readiness as the business matures.

What you’ll do

• Work with bookkeeper to ensure month end accounts are accurate with full backup for calculations / assumptions and balance sheet reconciled monthly with backing schedules – all to a high level of precision and detail
• Work with bookkeeper to document all finance standard operating processes (SOPs) to a high standard
• Produce financial schedules, reconciliations, and journals with high precision
• Support with VAT filings and compliance obligations in various jurisdictions
• Establish and maintain strong financial control and governance processes
• Oversee cash and revenue reconciliation across multiple global channels
• Drive data accuracy across platforms (e.g. e-commerce, payment gateways, accounting tools)
• Prepare financials to audit-ready standards
• Ensure alignment between operational systems and accounting records
• Identify control gaps and implement scalable solutions for future growth
• Project based work when required

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience in a Financial Controller role
• Prior work in a consumer goods and e-commerce environment essential
• Experience managing multi-channel and multi-currency businesses
• Deep understanding of cash flow, revenue recognition, and inventory control
• Systems knowledge of Shopify, Amazon, Exact (nice to have)
• High proficiency in Excel for reconciliations and reporting
