About the Venture Builder
Neighbourhood Health Ventures (NHV) - www.nhventures.co.uk - is a new venture builder established by UHUK (Urgent Health UK) member organisations – a network of NHS healthcare social enterprises delivering urgent and community health services across the United Kingdom. NHV has been created as a standalone limited company, collectively owned by investing UHUK members, to identify, test and launch innovative ventures that address real-world pain points in urgent, community and neighbourhood healthcare. The venture builder model enables member organisations to pool resources, share risk and retain ownership of the intellectual property and startups created. NHV will draw on the frontline expertise, sector knowledge and operational insight of its member investors. The ambition is to launch circa 5-6 ventures over an initial two-year period, funded by a seed investment from member contributions. The Role
As Venture Manager, you will be the lead operational figure in the venture builder, responsible for driving multiple early-stage health ventures from initial concept through to launch. You will manage the full venture pipeline – sourcing ideas from UHUK members and the wider market, conducting rapid market analysis, overseeing trial and MVP development, and coordinating the legal, financial and operational setup of new companies that launch.
Working closely with UHUK’s senior leadership, the Member Investors and a small team of Venture Associates, you will shape the strategic direction of the venture builder while maintaining the pace and agility of an early-stage startup environment. This is a rare opportunity to build a venture creation engine from scratch as a “founder”, within a purpose-driven healthcare network – combining the analytical rigour of venture capital with the hands-on intensity of founding a company.

Team & Stakeholder Management
• Line-manage Venture Associates and support their professional development
• Present findings, recommendations and progress reports to the NHV Board and UHUK member CEOs
• Build relationships with NHS stakeholders, social enterprise leaders, technical partners and potential future investors
• Support UHUK’s social enterprise mission, ensuring all ventures are evaluated for community and patient impact alongside commercial viability
