Job Title: Project Manager – EV Charge Point Operator (Local Authority Rollouts)
Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 DOE + Car or Car Allowance
Location: Hampshire
You know the feeling when a project should be straightforward… until permits slip, wayleaves stall, and five suppliers blame each other. This role is for a Project Manager who enjoys bringing order to that chaos - keeping local authority EV charging schemes moving, protecting the resident experience, and getting charge points live on time.
If you’ve managed on-street works (EV charging, street lighting, telecoms or similar), you’ll recognise the pace, the stakeholders, and the pressure. What you may not have had is the chance to do it within a growing, well-funded, award-winning charge point operator where your work genuinely helps shape the future of on-street charging across the UK.
Why this role
You’ll join a remote-first team during a high-growth phase, delivering EV charge point rollouts for local authorities nationwide. While many organisations are slowing down, our client is scaling - and investing in the people who can keep delivery smooth, compliant, and community-conscious.
What you’ll do
You’ll manage multiple Local Authority EV charging projects end-to-end, from early coordination through to delivery. Some programmes will be small and fast-moving; others will be larger rollouts requiring careful planning. Your day-to-day will centre on stakeholder management - working closely with councils, and coordinating civils, electrical, hardware and software suppliers to keep programmes aligned. You’ll ensure wayleaves, permits and street works requirements are in place, anticipate blockers early, and keep everyone accountable to deadlines, safety and quality.
About the company
This is an established, award-winning UK charge point operator with a strong reputation in the public sector. They’re known for a distinctive approach to supporting local authorities, underpinned by secure funding and a passionate team spread across the UK - all working fully remotely.
About you
You’ll bring proven project management experience in an on-street setting, ideally with a civil engineering or street works background. You understand permitting, subcontractor management, and the practical realities of working around residents, businesses and traffic. Experience across EV charging infrastructure, utilities, highways, street lighting or telecoms will translate well.
Rewards & growth
Alongside a strong salary and car/car allowance, you'll get true flexibility with fully remote working. Most importantly, you’ll step into a role with real progression - becoming a key player in a business widely expected to lead the UK’s on-street EV charging market.
