- Payroll processed accurately and on time by Day 5 of each month
- Monthly financial reporting delivered by Day 10
(P&L, cash flow, budget vs actuals)
- P&L accuracy and integrity
- Revenue and costs correctly recognized (accruals, deferrals, project margins)
- No material errors or rework required post-close
- 100% invoicing accuracy and invoices issued within 48h of trigger
- Cash flow forecast accuracy ≥ 90% (monthly)
- 0 compliance issues (tax filings, reporting, contractual financial obligations)
- AI-driven productivity in finance operations
- Active use of AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, finance automation tools) in daily work
Areas of Responsibility
- Financial Operations & Reporting
- Own invoicing, billing, payments, and bookkeeping oversight
- Prepare monthly P&L, cash flow, and budget tracking
- Monitor financial performance vs targets
- Cash Flow & Treasury
- Manage cash flow forecasting and runway visibility
- Oversee banking, payments, and liquidity
- Process & Systems Ownership
- Improve and standardize financial processes
- Ensure clean data across finance tools (e.g. HubSpot, QuickBooks)
- Compliance & External Coordination
- Coordinate with accountants, tax advisors, and auditors
- Ensure timely filings and regulatory compliance
- Contract & Commercial Support
- Support contract review (pricing, margins, payment terms)
- Ensure financial terms are aligned with company standards
Skills
- Strong financial operations management (invoicing, reporting, cash flow)
- High attention to detail and an ownership mindset
- Ability to work independently in a remote setup
- Process improvement and systems thinking
- Basic legal/commercial understanding (contracts, terms)
- Strong communication skills (can interact with non-finance teams)
Knowledge
- Accounting principles and financial reporting
- Cash flow management and budgeting
- Experience with accounting tools (QuickBooks experience preferable)
- Understanding of B2B services business models (nice to have: consulting)
- Basic contract structures (SoW, MSAs)
Experience
- 3–6 years in Finance / Accounting / Finance Operations roles
- Experience in a small or mid-sized company (important!)
- Experience owning end-to-end finance processes (not just a slice)
- Experience working with external accountants/advisors
- Bonus: experience in remote or distributed teams
