We are currently supporting a major banking/payments transformation programme and are looking to connect with experienced Java Engineers to support the continued modernization of high-volume enterprise payments platforms.

The environment focuses on real-time and enterprise payment processing, payment orchestration and ISO 20022 modernization within complex banking environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and support enterprise payment processing applications

• Work across high-volume, low-latency payment systems and APIs

• Support payment modernization initiatives across SEPA, SWIFT and Instant Payments

• Collaborate with Architects, Business Analysts and Product teams across distributed Agile environments

• Contribute to microservices-based platform engineering and cloud-native transformation initiatives

• Support integration, testing and optimization across complex payment flows and transaction processing environments

Required Experience

• Strong Java development experience (Java 11+/Spring Boot)

• Experience across enterprise payments, payment hubs or payment processing platforms

• Strong understanding of SEPA, SWIFT, ISO 20022 and/or Instant Payments

• Experience with APIs, Kafka, MQ, microservices and distributed systems

• Experience within banking, fintech or payments environments

• Strong Agile/Scrum experience

Highly Beneficial

• Experience across FIS OPF / Enterprise Payments or similar enterprise payment platforms

• Experience across payment orchestration, reconciliation, clearing or settlement environments

• Kubernetes/OpenShift/cloud-native platform experience

• Exposure to RTP, SCT Inst, FedNow or high-volume transaction systems
