Project Coordinator – REMOTE WORK Working with our business partners to create, improve and sustain industry and infrastructure. Orbital is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the execution of utility engineering and construction projects in a REMOTE WORK role. This position will directly support projects for multiple departments as new projects develop. The work may include creation of notifications, work orders, invoicing, and financial reports, as well as transmitting deliverables to our Clients. Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Provides administrative support to project team members
  • Supports team in maintaining project related files, coordinating with vendors, invoicing, and managing purchase orders
  • Supports project life cycle activities, including responsibilities related to Orbital project management software
  • Regularly utilizes internal software packages to complete daily responsibilities in the engineering design workflow process
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure their projects are being executed according to proposed deadlines and constraints, and internal standards
  • Assist with both internal and external reporting of project status KPIs
  • Coordinate and compile input from team members and various project reports to establish appropriate project plans, checkpoints and processes to meet project milestones, financial metrics and requirements
  • Communicate with others, including co-workers and clients, to reconcile project overages taking any corrective action required
  • Assist management in the execution of internal QMS program to ensure first time quality in project management
  • May be required to regularly interact with client personnel

Minimum Requirements

  • Advanced computer skills for Microsoft Office Suite
  • Associates degree in relevant field or equivalent job experience required, Bachelor’s degree is a plus
  • Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people individually and in groups, including external partners and internal team members
  • Strong organizational skills with proven experience prioritizing work and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and contribute administrative support to teams
  • Reasoning skills and ability to solve practical problems
  • This position requires the ability to pass a post-offer drug (including marijuana) and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations and is also subject to random testing as a condition of continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint
  • PMI certification or knowledge of project management principles and processes
  • EXCEL – Moderate to Advanced user
  • Previous project or account management experience as a customer main point of contact is beneficial
  • Experience with project start-up or close-out activities
