Software Engineer

2. About the Opportunity:

The Software Engineer will build software that enhances how payroll businesses function on the platform. This role involves solving diverse technical challenges, contributing both to immediate improvements and long-term engineering goals. The position requires ownership of projects from design to rollout and involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver practical, impactful solutions. The engineer will gain deep insight into complex production systems and play a key role in accelerating the organization’s ability to serve partners and internal teams effectively.

3. Responsibilities:

• Build and ship software to improve operations for partners, operators, and internal teams

• Address small friction points to enhance products and workflows alongside long-term objectives

• Own projects from technical approach through implementation and deployment

• Understand and work with complex systems such as money movement and tax filing processes

• Collaborate with engineers, product, and other teams to solve partner and operator challenges

• Develop product and engineering judgment based on business impact

• Gain deep knowledge of systems and workflows to anticipate and prevent issues

• Communicate clearly through code, documentation, and discussion

• Accept feedback and mentorship to improve engineering skills continuously

4. Requirements:

• Strong software engineering fundamentals across backend and frontend systems

• Proficiency in Python or Go; experience with Django, React, or TypeScript is beneficial

• Experience building product features, internal tools, or business-focused systems

• High agency, curiosity, and eagerness to learn in a complex domain

• Ability to handle ambiguity, ask insightful questions, and translate context into action

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with various stakeholders

• Proven track record of delivering high-quality, practical software efficiently

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
