ResearchGuru is hiring a Director of Sales Marketing in London, on a salary of $130,000 a year, to lead sales of our research data platform.
Job title: Director of Sales Marketing
Company: ResearchGuru
Location: Remote
Salary: $130,000 per year
Experience: At least 10 years in sales
Bonus: Knowledge of using Claue AI
ResearchGuru is a UK-based research technology company run by researchers. Our platform, ResearchGuru, does three jobs in one place: electronic data capture (EDC), automated tables, figures and listings (TFLs), and automated statistical analysis.
We build, host and support study-ready forms/surveys for contract research organizations, clinical research teams, universities, medical-device companies and research charities. Study teams send us their approved documents and move to live data collection in days rather than months, with no programming team of their own.
We are now growing in the UK and internationally, including the United States, and we need a senior sales leader to drive that growth.
You will own ResearchGuru's revenue: the sales strategy, the pipeline and the major deals. Working directly with the founder, you will take a proven platform to more sponsors, CROs and research institutions, and build the sales function around it.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will open doors, run platform demonstrations, write proposals and close deals yourself, with support from our researchers and developers. You will also put in place the process, partnerships and team that let sales grow beyond you.
• Set and deliver the sales strategy and annual revenue targets for the UK and international markets, including the United States.
• Build and manage a qualified pipeline of CROs, pharmaceutical and medical-device companies, universities and research charities.
• Grow existing accounts, turning a customer's first study into repeat business across their portfolio.
• Lead complex sales from first conversation to signed agreement: discovery, platform demonstrations, proposals, pricing and contract negotiation.
• Develop partnerships with CROs and consultancies that need an EDC and analysis platform for their own clients.
• Work with AI researchers and developers to turn customer needs into clear requirements and accurate proposals.
• Represent ResearchGuru at conferences, industry events and customer meetings.
• Put in place forecasting, CRM discipline and regular reporting to the directors.
Essential
• Experience selling eClinical or life-sciences software, such as EDC, ePRO/eCOA, eConsent or CTMS, to sponsors, CROs or research institutions.
• At least 10 years' experience in business-to-business sales, including time in a senior or leadership role.
• A record of meeting or beating revenue targets and closing high-value, multi-stakeholder deals.
• Experience selling into the United States, United Kingdom or other international markets.
• The ability to build a pipeline from scratch as well as manage and forecast it.
• Confident negotiation, presentation and written communication skills.
• The judgement to explain technical research software in plain language to scientific and commercial audiences.
bonus
• Experience of using AI (Claude or ChatGPT).
• Knowledge of conducting research studies: the process of designing a study, collecting data, analyzing and reporting results, so you can talk credibly with customers' technical teams and with our own developers. For example at a CRO, a sponsor or a clinical trials unit, or familiarity with eCRF/surveys and statistical reporting.
• A salary of $130,000 per year.
• A home-based role at director level, working directly with the founder.
• The opportunity to build and lead the sales function as the company grows in the UK and abroad.
Send your CV and a short covering note to medy@edcstat.com with "Sales Director" in the subject line. Tell us about a deal you are proud of and what you would do in your first 90 days.
