Strategic Factor provides fractional advisory services to private companies, corporations, and asset management firms. Our advisors are experienced executives, operators, and subject-matter experts who guide clients on strategy, operations, fundraising, risk, and scaling. Advisors work alongside Strategic Factor’s support team, which provides additional resources such as financial modeling and pitch deck development, enabling advisors to focus on high-value guidance and client-facing engagement.
Who Are Our Clients
- U.S.-based venture-backed companies from Seed to Series B, as well as later-stage companies and corporations.
- Funds and investors, including private equity, hedge funds, credit funds, lender finance platforms, real estate credit and equity managers, and family offices, as well as their portfolio companies.
- Typical needs: launch or optimize credit products, build underwriting and risk governance, establish GTM repeatability, stand up scalable ops and finance systems, and structure facilities and capital stacks.
Advisors We’re Looking For
- Senior operators or investors with U.S. market experience who drive decision quality in focused working sessions.
- Core lanes: risk and credit, data and modeling, GTM and revenue, operations and finance, real estate finance, and fund-side investment process.
- Plus factors: partnerships with banks or warehouse lenders, familiarity with U.S. lending and data compliance, and capital markets exposure.
Role Overview
As a Strategic Advisor, you will serve as a trusted partner to clients, providing guidance based on your expertise in areas such as finance, operations, product, data, technology, or go-to-market. Your primary responsibility is to deliver value in structured client-facing meetings, complemented by light preparation and follow-up. Advisors are not expected to take on heavy execution or project work; instead, they provide direction, oversight, and actionable insights.
Responsibilities
- Conduct client-facing advisory meetings (typically 4–20 hours/month depending on engagement).
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations aligned with client needs.
- Support client executives and teams with expertise in your domain.
- Review client materials in advance of meetings and provide light follow-up where necessary.
- Collaborate with Strategic Factor’s support team (financial modeling, research) to ensure clients receive comprehensive support.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all client interactions.
Expectations & Compensation
- Advisors are generally compensated at $150-200 per client-facing hour, paid monthly, with a minimum of four hours ($600-800) per month.
- Compensation is based on time spent in scheduled client meetings. Preparation and follow-up are considered part of the engagement.
- Advisors are not expected to deliver extensive off-call project work (e.g., building models, writing decks, doing research).
- Engagements are typically long-term (multi-month) and structured around fixed monthly packages purchased by clients.
Ideal Profile
- 10+ years of experience in a relevant functional or leadership role (finance, credit, operations, sales, product, risk, technology, etc.).
- Prior executive, operator, or founder experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly with C-suite executives and management teams.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.
- Comfortable working in fractional/part-time engagements with multiple clients.
