Job Description
YRCI is seeking a part-time Sr. Benefits and Retirement Specialist to support our Human Resources Remote Operations Center (HRROC), located in Reston, VA. YRCI's HRROC is a Shared Service Center that supports multiple Federal agencies and offers a friendly, collaborative team environment with access to training from industry experts!
The Role (Fully Remote)
- Although the YRCI home office is located in Reston, VA, this position is fully remote.
- Serve as the Client's sole Benefits and Retirement Specialist for a Federal population of approximately 140 Federal Employees.
- Lead the Retirement Management function that includes oversight of the organization's retirement systems, tools, and processes, as well as provide consulting and HR support on Client's retirement protocols.
- Manage Retirement Planning and Processing that includes retirement counseling between this role and the prospective retiree, retirement application processing (which includes input from the prospective retiree, HR, and payroll), the application adjudication, and communication of anticipated retirement payments.
- Responsible for counseling employees and processing military deposit applications (to include employees subject to Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA)); civilian deposit applications, death claims for employee death in service and family/dependent death claims.
- Responsible for full administration of the employee Insurance Programs to include Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB), Federal Employees' Group Life Insurance (FEGLI), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). These duties include processing benefit election forms, conducting new employee benefits orientation, announcing and conducting Federal Benefits Open Season; and providing any Office of Personnel Management (OPM) required reporting.
Job Requirements
- At least six (6) years of Federal HR experience in Federal Benefits and Retirement; requiring progressively increasing responsibility.
- Expert knowledge of Federal Benefits and Retirement, operations, procedures, and requirements.
- Proven administrative skills and experience with HR automated systems (Interior Business Center (IBC), and Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS) experience is a plus).
- Process and administer counseling for employees separating Federal service and not eligible for retirement; processing Temporary Continuation of Coverage (TCC) elections and preparing the employee’s separation packages (to include employees transferring to another Federal agency.
- Bachelor’s degree highly desired.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the government-required security clearance.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
