Job Description

Posted on: May 13, 2026

Biology Specialist (Masters/PhDs) - AI TrainingAbout The Role What if your years of biology research and deep scientific expertise could directly shape how AI reasons through the most complex problems in genetics, biotechnology, and bioinformatics? We're looking for credentialed biology experts to help build and train cutting-edge AI models — ensuring they think with the rigor, depth, and accuracy that real science demands. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No prior AI experience needed — just a strong scientific background and a passion for getting things right.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Develop, solve, and review advanced biology problems with real-world scientific relevance
  • Apply your expertise in genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related fields to design complex, nuanced problem statements
  • Evaluate AI-generated scientific content for accuracy, rigor, and logical soundness
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to sharpen AI model reasoning
  • Ensure scientific clarity and depth across all deliverables — catching errors and ambiguities before they propagate

Who You Are

  • Master's or PhD in Biology or a closely related field (Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, etc.)
  • Strong expertise in at least one of: genetics, molecular biology, biotechnology, or bioinformatics
  • Comfortable working in Python or R for research or data analysis
  • Exceptional written communicator — you can explain complex science clearly and precisely
  • Detail-oriented and methodical, with a genuine commitment to scientific accuracy
  • Fluent in English

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or research assessment workflows
  • Familiarity with AI tools or large language model outputs
  • Interdisciplinary background spanning multiple biological domains
  • Experience writing for scientific audiences — papers, grant proposals, or technical documentation

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs and AI teams
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you, on your own schedule
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, intellectually stimulating work
  • Make a direct, tangible impact on how AI understands and reasons about biology
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
