Material Science Specialist (AI Training)About The Role What if your deep expertise in semiconductor materials or molecular modeling could directly shape how AI reasons through some of the most complex problems in modern science? We're looking for Materials Science specialists — Masters and PhD level — to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models on advanced scientific content. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers and domain experts who want to contribute to the frontier of AI without leaving their field behind. No prior AI experience needed — just rigorous scientific knowledge and a commitment to quality.

What You'll Do
- Develop, solve, and critically review advanced materials science problems with real-world scientific relevance
- Apply your expertise in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, or related domains to craft complex, high-quality problem statements
- Evaluate AI-generated scientific reasoning and outputs for accuracy, depth, and rigor
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to push the boundaries of AI scientific reasoning
- Ensure scientific clarity, precision, and depth across all deliverables
- Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Master's or PhD in Materials Science or a closely related discipline
- Strong domain expertise in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, or adjacent areas
- Proficient in Python or MATLAB for research or computational work
- Exceptionally detail-oriented with rigorous scientific standards
- Clear and precise written communicator — you can explain complex ideas with confidence
- Currently based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand
- No prior AI or data annotation experience required — full training support provided
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, evaluation frameworks, or AI quality review
- Background in computational materials science, thin films, nanomaterials, or related specializations
- Experience writing or reviewing scientific literature or technical documentation
- Familiarity with AI tools or large language models as an end user
