About the Role
Apex Infrastructure Consultants is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead design and/or construction delivery for complex, mission-critical data center facilities. This is a remote role open to candidates anywhere in the United States. This is a full-time, permanent position (not a contract), fully remote, with no relocation required.
This role manages projects from early planning and basis-of-design development through construction documents, construction, commissioning, and closeout. Candidates with a strong background on the design side, the construction side, or both are encouraged to apply.
What You'll Do
• Manage data center projects across planning, design, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Lead design development from basis of design through construction documents, including design reviews and multidisciplinary workshops.
• Oversee day-to-day construction execution and keep work progressing to plan.
• Coordinate owners, architects, engineers, general contractors, consultants, vendors, and procurement teams.
• Track scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality, and prepare clear status reports for leadership and project stakeholders.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, design changes, and their impact on scope, schedule, and cost.
• Track engineering deliverables, equipment deliveries, installations, and commissioning milestones.
• Support data hall fit-out, including electrical distribution, busway, PDUs, cabling infrastructure, and containment.
• Manage multiple projects or workstreams at the same time.
What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field.
• 8+ years of design management, construction management, or engineering project management experience on data center or other mission-critical projects (not IT, software, or telecom projects).
• Experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects, with a strong understanding of building systems, MEP coordination, and construction documentation.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Based in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
• Data center or other mission-critical facility experience (hospitals, labs, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor fabs, power generation, or substations).
• Commissioning experience (Levels 1-5).
• Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam.
• PE, RA, or NCARB credential.
Location
• Remote (United States). Occasional travel to project sites may be required.
Compensation and Benefits
• Salary range: $170,000 to $200,000+ per year, based on experience, plus bonus.
