AFBE-UK is seeking a dedicated and proactive Part-Time Corporate Membership Officer to join our team and play a pivotal role in fostering relationships with corporate clients and enhancing membership engagement.

AFBE-UK works with some of the biggest engineering firms in the UK and globally. We pride ourselves on providing excellent value and customer service to our corporate partners. The new Membership Officer will act as the key interface between AFBE and its corporate members, ensuring strong relationships, smooth operations, and high levels of engagement.

This role would suit a driven individual with at least two years' experience in corporate service and a keen eye for detail. The role combines administrative duties with direct corporate client engagement, so a confident communicator is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Corporate Relationship Management:

  • Act as a key contact for assigned corporate partners
  • Signpost corporate members to relevant AFBE product teams and programmes
  • Maintain regular communication with existing members to ensure satisfaction and encourage renewals

Membership Operations:

  • Manage the full member lifecycle: sales, payments, new member communications, agreement sign-off, and renewal processes
  • Produce and maintain the organisational membership database with regular reporting on membership statistics
  • Liaise with the Finance Team to ensure accurate and up-to-date recording of payments

Marketing & Engagement:

  • Assist in the creation and development of membership and marketing materials (newsletters, welcome packs, e-communications, brochures, questionnaires)
  • Manage and develop organisational membership events
  • Attend internal and external events on occasion to represent AFBE

Strategy & Analysis:

  • Work with other teams across the organisation to maximise engagement with membership recruitment strategy
  • Assist in the development of membership recruitment and retention strategies
  • Analyse sales performance and assist in sales forecasting
  • Provide reports on membership statistics, sales performance, and client engagement for management review

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a B2B or membership-related role, preferably within a corporate environment
  • Client-facing experience and strong account management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving capabilities

Desirable:

  • Experience working with engineering or STEM organisations
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and membership databases
  • Passion for diversity, inclusion, and community engagement

What We Offer:

  • Flexible remote working
  • Pro-rata salary: £28,000–£30,000 per year (based on 15 hours per week)
  • Opportunity to work with leading engineering firms across the UK and globally
  • Be part of a mission-driven organisation committed to diversity and inclusion in engineering
