Job Description

Posted on: June 30, 2025

About us

We are building a commercial management platform for the legal industry. GenAI is set to transform legal and other time & materials-based industries, and players in those sectors are looking to adapt their commercial models to that new reality.

Our platform makes that possible by harnessing unstructured data scattered across law firms to facilitate decision making around pricing, legal engagement management and law firm go-to-market motions.

We are experiencing rapid growth underpinned by our relationships with some of the world’s top law firms, and are looking to add talent to help us deliver the best experience possible to our customers.

We are a team with backgrounds from leading academic and research institutions and top startups and financial firms. We are looking for people who fit that mould and are excited to build products at the cutting edge of applied AI.

About the role

We’re looking for an AI/ML Engineer to help us build intelligent agentic systems that make use of both our own machine learning models and frontier LLMs. You’ll work alongside our backend engineers and data scientists to design, build, and deploy AI-powered capabilities across our platform.

As with the rest of our team, we value well-engineered, maintainable solutions over quick fixes. We want someone who is excited to build scalable, production-grade ML systems — not just prototypes — and contribute to a thoughtful, collaborative team environment.

Target Requirements

  • Competencies in our core stack or highly transferrable analogues: Python, AWS, Terraform, GitLab CI
  • Solid understanding of modern ML development and deployment practices
  • Experience building agentic systems or autonomous workflows (e.g. task-oriented LLM agents, tool-augmented LLMs, or multi-modal agents)
  • Familiarity with LLM APIs (e.g. Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic) and how to integrate them effectively into products
  • Good understanding of data pipelines and MLOps principles (e.g. reproducibility, monitoring, versioning)
  • Analytical background (e.g. STEM degree or equivalent experience)
  • Comfortable navigating common technical challenges, contributing to discussions, and refining technical requirements
  • Able to operate independently on existing or new ML systems while improving project structure
  • Delivers consistently within collaborative frameworks (Agile or similar)
  • Builds clean, scalable, and maintainable solutions using appropriate tools and patterns — avoids brittle "hacks" for short-term speed

Ideal / Bonus

  • Brings ideas and practices that help the team level up (e.g. new tools, techniques, or ML/LLM capabilities)
  • Familiarity with RLHF, fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or similar
  • Experience with Golang
  • Experience working in regulated industries (health, legal, financial) and understanding of associated ML risks and constraints
  • Positive force in growing a strong engineering team and helping us develop as we scale

Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Employee stock options in a revenue-generating, VC-backed startup
  • Remote working with flexible hours
  • 28 days personal time off
  • Regular team meet ups
  • Progression opportunities as we scale the team
