Import/Export Project Manager

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Import/Export Project Manager to join our team on a 6-month contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring import/export compliance, managing shipment clearance, and maintaining accurate documentation. This fully remote role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of international trade regulations and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure import/export compliance with a focus on the US and EU markets, while also adhering to global regulations.
• Prepare and review commercial invoices and related documentation to ensure compliance with country-specific regulations.
• Interpret and apply laws, rules, and regulations related to shipping, identifying the need for import/export control certifications and licenses.
• Manage shipment clearance status with brokers and access corresponding systems (e.g., ACE, ITACS).
• Maintain and update HTS, ECCN, and Schedule B numbers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customs delay issues promptly.
• Conduct audits of courier broker performance, including the review of entry summaries.
• Assist the Sr. Director of Logistics & Supply Chain in developing and maintaining the import and export compliance program and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure effective planning and communication.
• Engage with manufacturing partners to coordinate shipment planning, forecasting, and execution.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in import/export compliance, with a strong understanding of US and EU trade regulations.
• Excellent knowledge of commercial invoice preparation and related documentation.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex shipping laws, rules, and regulations.
• Experience managing shipment clearance and working with systems like ACE and ITACS.
• Familiarity with HTS, ECCN, and Schedule B numbers.
• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in resolving customs delays.
• Experience auditing courier broker performance and reviewing entry summaries.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a remote work environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with internal stakeholders and manufacturing partners.
