Position Overview
Endear is seeking a remote full-stack software engineer with a low ego and passion for excellence and ownership. We want someone who is a results-oriented, collaborative self-starter looking for rapid professional growth.
Our dream candidate has experience building modern SaaS applications, using our core tech stack, and handling complex data at scale. You will report directly to our CTO, JP Grace, who has over a decade of leadership experience successfully launching, building, and scaling start-ups.
You will join our fully remote tech team to deliver great customer experiences. This person will be expected to be hands-on coding, collaborating with other engineers and product partners, contributing to code reviews, and iterating on our process based on data-driven results. Ultimately, this is a key role to our company’s growth and is charged with delivering new capabilities that add real value to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on full-stack development to meet customer and product needs
- Design and implement scalable core software that handles large volumes of data in real time
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver new features
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical best practices
- Own ideas from inception through production release
- Help refine the core logic that powers our infrastructure, including syncing retail data and powering AI-driven features
- Contribute to scaling our systems and improving development workflows

- Ramp quickly by completing 15+ PRs and 15 code reviews.
- Ship features and improvements to production within your first 60 days.
- Collaborate across engineering and product to deliver meaningful customer-facing capabilities.

- Consistently own and ship core features that impact 100s of retail brands.
- Take responsibility for a product area and influence technical decision-making.
- Contribute to scaling code quality, peer review practices, and engineering culture as the team grows.
You’ll Thrive in This Role If…You Have Experience With
- TypeScript / JavaScript (React or similar)
- Serverless and event-driven architectures
- Architecting distributed systems
- GraphQL, Postgres, ElasticSearch
- GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
- GitHub Actions or modern CI/CD pipelines
- Jest or similar testing frameworks
- Agile and Lean development practices
- B2B or B2C SaaS environments (startup experience preferred)

About the Team
We’re a small, fast-moving team. Everyone has high ownership, and your work will directly shape how Endear scales. You’ll partner most closely with:
- CTO (JP Grace): Manager, strategic priorities, technical leadership.
- Engineering: On-call rotation, deployment workflows, triage improvements.
- Product: Ensuring improvements align with customer and merchant needs.
- Customer Support: Faster playbooks and tools for resolving customer issues.
