Job Summary:Flueid is seeking a Junior Software Engineer (Backend) who will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of backend services and APIs that power our core products. This is a hands-on engineering role where developers own code quality end-to-end — including writing automated tests.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in computer science, is passionate about cloud-native engineering on AWS, and is eager to learn modern practices such as agentic coding, where AI-assisted development is an integrated part of daily engineering workflows.
While the focus is backend development (TypeScript/Node.js and C#), there will be opportunities to contribute to frontend features when needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs using TypeScript and C#.
- Follow agentic coding practices, including the use of AI coding assistants, structured prompting, and iterative co-development workflows.
- Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests; engineers own the full quality lifecycle.
- Help design and build scalable, secure cloud-native components on AWS (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.).
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to continuously improve code quality.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to refine requirements, scope work, and deliver features reliably.
- Troubleshoot production systems, resolve defects, and contribute to improving observability and performance.
- Document APIs, services, and internal tooling to ensure clarity and alignment across teams.
- Work on occasional frontend tasks (e.g., React or similar) while maintaining a strong backend focus.
- Participate in team ceremonies (standups, planning, retrospectives) and contribute to process improvements.

- Working knowledge of backend development using TypeScript or C#.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs or backend service development.
- Familiarity with cloud concepts and the AWS ecosystem.
- Experience working with version control (Git) and modern engineering practices.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
Professional Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and eagerness to learn from mentors and teammates.
- Clear communication skills, especially in a remote-first environment.
- Highly organized and able to manage time, tasks, and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
