About the Opportunity
We are looking for a mission-driven and versatile Vice President of People Operations to help us build and retain our most important asset at the organization: our team. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about cultivating the perfect organizational culture through hiring and employee satisfaction.
This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will work closely with our staff, external recruiters, and management team on recruiting and team-building. The Vice President of People Operations will own employee onboarding processes, manage our Human Resources and performance review systems, and support our staff in their journey to build the best business we can. Our distributed company works 100% remotely on U.S. Eastern or Central time, though we
get together regularly for team retreats.
What You Will Do
● Provide comprehensive HR generalist support across the organization, including employee relations, policy development, and compliance.
● Develop and manage the full recruiting lifecycle, from sourcing and interviewing to offer negotiation and onboarding, ensuring a positive candidate experience. Manage external recruiting relationships.
● Design and execute our annual performance review process, including goal setting, feedback collection, and performance calibration.
● Lead the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth and welcoming integration into the company culture.
● Coach and advise managers on HR best practices, performance management, employee development, and other people-related matters.
● Implement and manage HR systems and tools to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
● Foster a positive and inclusive company culture, championing values and commitment to diversity.
● Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement people strategies that align with business objectives.
● Stay up-to-date on HR trends, best practices, and employment laws to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement
Skills & Qualifications
● 8 to 10+ years of professional experience in HR, recruiting or People Operations.
● Comfortable in a fast-moving, collaborative, fully remote startup environment.
● Excellent written and in person communication skills.
● Experience with HR management software tool Rippling is a plus, but not required.
● Extra credit for experience in growth-stage organization
