Platform Developer – Salesforce / DevOps
Salary: £70,000 - £90,000

Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Salesforce Platform Developer to join an exciting SaaS organisation. The role will be approximately 80% focused on hands-on Salesforce development, with the remaining 20% providing additional capability across DevOps, deployments and platform environments.
You will develop, test and maintain a Salesforce-based platform, delivering reliable platform changes while supporting CI/CD, environment management, deployments and releases within an Agile environment.
This would suit a hands-on Salesforce Developer with strong Apex, Lightning Web Components and OmniStudio experience who also has experience supporting Salesforce DevOps and release processes.
Role and Responsibilities
- Spend approximately 80% of your time developing, configuring and maintaining Salesforce functionality across a business-critical platform
- Build solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, SOQL, JavaScript and OmniStudio
- Translate business and platform requirements into practical technical solutions, user stories and acceptance criteria
- Support integrations between Salesforce and wider enterprise applications and services
- Contribute to technical design, testing, release readiness and deployment activities
- Spend approximately 20% of your time supporting Salesforce DevOps, environment management and deployment processes
- Support and improve CI/CD pipelines, release automation and deployment processes
- Assist with Salesforce environment management, source control and configuration management
- Investigate and resolve issues across development, integrations, environments and deployments
- Support reliable and controlled releases across multiple Salesforce environments
- Work collaboratively within an Agile team, contributing to sprint planning, reviews and continuous improvement
Skills and Experience
- Strong commercial Salesforce development experience
- Hands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows and SOQL
- Experience with Salesforce OmniStudio, including OmniScripts
- Good knowledge of Salesforce data, security, automation and integration principles
- Experience developing and supporting Salesforce solutions across multiple environments
- Experience supporting Salesforce DevOps, deployment and release processes
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control and automated deployments
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Salesforce CLI and Metadata API
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across development and deployment environments
- Experience working within Agile development teams
- Experience within a regulated, healthcare, life sciences or clinical trials environment would be advantageous
Desirable
- Experience with Salesforce Agentforce or other Salesforce AI capabilities
- Familiarity with Heroku-hosted applications and Salesforce integration services
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code
- Experience with Salesforce DevOps tooling and deployment automation
- Relevant Salesforce certifications including Platform Developer, OmniStudio Developer, Administrator or Platform App Builder
