Lead Software Engineer

We're hiring a Senior Technical Lead / Head of Engineering

Location: UK-based (Remote-friendly)

Engagement: Contract or Full-Time

We're looking for someone who can step in immediately and take full control of the technical delivery of our platform, iPro Suite. This is not just another senior developer role, we need someone with a proven backend foundation who has since evolved into a strong full-stack leader.

We now need someone highly capable who can bring structure, clarity, and momentum, someone who can own the technical delivery end-to-end, manage the development team, and get the product launched to spec and on time.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and auditing the current backend and frontend setup
• Taking full ownership of our technical architecture to ensure it’s scalable, secure, and production-ready
• Managing and supporting our existing developers, holding them accountable to deadlines and deliverables
• Establishing or improving our QA and testing workflows
• Creating realistic sprint goals, tracking team progress, and flagging issues early
• Owning the release process, features need to be tested, bugs tracked and resolved, and functionality verified before anything is signed off
• Reporting progress, blockers, and resourcing needs directly to the CEO and Founder
• Working cross-functionally with design and product to ensure seamless delivery

What we need from you:

• Strong backend experience, ideally having started your career in server-side development before growing into a full-stack role
• Proven experience managing and mentoring engineers while still remaining technical
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture and DevOps
• Experience introducing structure into late-stage or growing products
• Ability to implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, testing practices (unit, integration, E2E), and release cycles
• A track record of taking MVP products through to production launch under pressure
• Clear and confident communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• A practical, delivery-focused mindset, no fluff, no overcomplication, just clear execution
