Job Details

We’re hiring a Design Engineer to develop detailed construction and manufacturing drawings for a variety of sensor stations, equipment, and module monitors used on utility-scale solar projects.

What You’ll Do
  • Translate project requirements and system configurations into detailed CAD packages for manufacturing teams, field installers, and EPC partners.
  • Create electrical connection diagrams, mechanical assembly drawings, equipment layouts, and mounting and installation details.
  • Develop drawing packages through 30%, 60%, 90%, issued-for-construction (IFC), and as-built stages.
  • Review client specifications, identify design gaps, and coordinate changes with engineering, sales, project management, and field teams.
  • Support manufacturing during assembly and testing, resolve build issues, and incorporate improvements into designs.
  • Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, manufacturability, and long-term reliability.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of professional CAD experience using Autodesk tools, with strong AutoCAD proficiency and experience with AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD MEP, and/or Inventor.
  • Experience producing detailed construction drawing packages for solar projects.
  • Ability to develop electrical and mechanical details that manufacturing and installation teams can build from.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to independently manage defined design scopes.
Preferred Experience
  • Utility-scale solar projects and coordination with EPCs.
  • Meteorological stations, sensors, data loggers, or other solar monitoring equipment.
  • Manufacturing support, equipment assembly, or bench and field testing.
  • Bluebeam or similar drawing review software.
