About the Opportunity

The Software Engineer, Core Platform develops backend systems and APIs that power data ingestion, processing, and routing across the organization’s telemetry platform.

This role works closely with engineers and product managers to translate customer needs into scalable products while contributing to technical direction, internal tooling, and engineering practices. The position plays a key role in building robust distributed systems capable of processing large datasets in real time.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend software projects and features focused on data ingestion, processing, and routing

• Design, test, and maintain clean, reliable, and efficient code that meets customer requirements

• Collaborate with engineering, product, and other cross-functional teams to translate feature specifications into functional products

• Develop comprehensive test plans and automated tests to ensure feature reliability and quality

• Take end-to-end ownership of software systems, including participation in on-call and support rotations

• Proactively contribute to team objectives and identify opportunities beyond assigned responsibilities

• Participate in standby, on-call, and off-hours support activities as required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

• Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, networking, and operating systems

• Experience building products that process large-scale datasets using Node.js and TypeScript

• Understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and high-performance architecture

• Experience with systems-level debugging, networking, performance profiling, and performance tuning

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly

• Experience working with Agile development methodologies

• Strong ownership mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality, reliable, and high-performance software

• Experience developing software or services for cloud-based platforms

• Ability to meet U.S. government security requirements for FedRAMP-authorized systems, including U.S. citizenship

Pay Range and Compensation Package

• Base salary range of $150,000 to $175,000 USD annually, depending on location and experience

• Eligibility for incentive compensation or a corporate bonus program, depending on the role
