About the Opportunity:
The SENIOR DATA ANALYST, FINANCE role supports financial planning, analysis, and reporting specifically related to inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and financial performance within the diamond sourcing division. This position is key to providing accurate financial insights, enhancing visibility into operational metrics, and aiding decision-making processes to optimize inventory management and financial outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and report key financial metrics including inventory balances, reserves, gross margin, and COGS
- Prepare and deliver periodic financial reports to management
- Assist with month-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analyses
- Develop and maintain financial dashboards and KPIs
- Collaborate to maintain accurate physical inventory and resolve discrepancies
- Analyze inventory transactions and support reporting accuracy
- Partner with teams to improve inventory turnover and reduce inefficiencies
- Manage pricing and costing data infrastructure, integrating multiple data sources
- Develop SQL queries and data pipelines for consolidated reporting
- Build analytical models to enhance automation and reporting reliability
- Identify and implement process improvements in financial workflows
- Support audit processes and SOX compliance
- Work with IT and ERP teams to optimize reporting systems
- Collaborate cross-functionally to provide financial insights
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics
- 3-5 years of financial analysis and accounting experience, preferably in inventory or COGS
- Knowledge of US GAAP focused on inventory and COGS accounting
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and financial reporting tools
- Advanced analytical and Excel skills
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, or Power BI
- Strong communication skills for presenting to senior stakeholders
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to collaborate across departments
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
