Rhoen is an AI-driven, non-clinical emotional wellbeing platform for individuals and organizations. We help employees understand and process their emotions through private, judgment-free AI conversation — while giving organizations aggregated psychological risk insights to prevent burnout before it becomes a crisis.

We are pre-product and pre-funding, and at the stage where the right person changes everything. Targeting Japan and Australia first, with global ambitions.

Role Description

This is a full-time equity-based role for a Technical Co-Founder, located in Sydney, NSW (or anywhere in Australia).

We're not looking for someone to execute a spec. We're looking for someone who reads about this problem, says "heck yes" to the challenge, and wants to be the one to build this right！

You'll own the technology vision and architecture from day one, lead product and software development, design privacy-first data systems, and integrate conversational AI. The role begins with a 3-month unpaid trial, transitioning to a co-founder equity contract. You won't be joining a team — you'll be building one. Together.

Qualifications

• Technical expertise in full-stack development, mobile (React Native or Flutter), backend architecture, and cloud infrastructure.

• Experience with AI/LLM integration and conversational UX — understanding that emotional-context AI requires extra design care.

• Strong knowledge of privacy-first system design: differential privacy, data anonymization, and minimal data collection principles.

• Excellent communication skills — able to bridge technical decisions with non-technical stakeholders.

• Collaborative and team-first by nature. You make the people around you better. Co-founder means co — not solo.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the drive to move from ambiguity to action without waiting to be told.

• Passion for mission-driven work. Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.
