Working Model: Fully remote with occasional office travel
Employment: Permanent / Full-time
Salary: Up to £80,000
Reporting to: Business Systems Director
Interview Process: 2 stages
Implementation Partner: Leading Workday implementation consultancy
Go-Live: Targeted for around 2027
Role Overview
A leading global property and construction consultancy is currently implementing Workday across Finance and HR and is building its permanent internal Workday capability ahead of go-live.
This is a newly created role for a hands-on Workday functional specialist, with a strong emphasis on Workday Financials.
The successful candidate will join during implementation, work alongside the implementation partner and wider transformation team, learn the Workday environment and ultimately become an internal Workday SME responsible for supporting, configuring and improving the platform after go-live.
What They Need
The main priority is strong hands-on Workday Financials configuration experience.
They are looking for someone who can:
- Configure Workday independently
- Troubleshoot Workday issues
- Manage BAU support and service tickets
- Support Finance and HR users
- Deliver enhancements and smaller improvement projects
- Work across Finance, HR and IT
- Take long-term ownership of the Workday environment
This is not a Project Manager role – they need someone genuinely functional and hands-on.
Key Skills
Strong experience across areas such as:
- Workday Financials configuration
- Business Process configuration
- Supplier and customer processes
- Expenses and invoicing
- Finance approvals
- Financial master data
- Validations
- Finance security
- Reporting
- Period-close support
- Testing and troubleshooting
Someone considerably stronger in Financials than HCM can still be an excellent fit.
Experience with:
- Custom Workday reporting
- Calculated Fields
- Dashboards and filters
- Data validation and reconciliation
- Domain and Business Process Security
- Role-based security and security groups
- Access and segregation of duties
- BAU / Post-Production
Post-production experience is particularly valuable as the role will eventually help own the live environment.
Ideally:
- BAU Workday support
- Ticket and incident management
- Root-cause analysis
- Configuration changes
- Workday enhancements
- Release management
- Regression testing / UAT
- Change control
- Continuous improvement
Pure implementation experience without post-production exposure is less ideal.
