We’re seeking a driven Business Development Manager with strong technical and commercial acumen to expand our polymer additives business across the U.S. market. If you combine deep knowledge of polymers with a hunter mentality and a passion for unlocking new opportunities, this role offers a platform to deliver high visibility and high impact.

Role Overview

As a key commercial leader, you will target compounders and masterbatch producers across the plastics value chain to position innovative additive solutions that address performance, processing, and sustainability challenges. This role blends deep technical understanding with strategic selling — ideal for someone who excels at opening doors, diagnosing customer needs, and shaping value‑driven proposals. This is a remote role with national responsibility and regular travel to customers, partners, and industry events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within polymer additives across the U.S.
  • Lead technical sales engagements with compounders, processors, resin producers, and OEMs
  • Leverage your understanding of polymer compounding and formulation to support customer trials, troubleshooting, and product selection
  • Build strong relationships with technical, commercial, and operational stakeholders at customer sites
  • Drive long‑term growth by understanding emerging trends in additives, resin systems, and application performance
  • Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, and Technical Service to support new product introductions and development programs
  • Develop territory strategies, manage opportunity pipelines, and deliver accurate forecasting
  • Represent the company at conferences, technical forums, and customer visits as a knowledgeable industry partner
  • Provide insights into competitive activity and help shape strategic positioning
  • Maintain rigorous reporting on customer activities, progress, and market intelligence

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or related field
  • Strong experience in technical sales or business development within specialty materials, additives, or plastics
  • Hands‑on understanding of polymer compounding, formulation, and processing technologies
  • Proven success in winning new business — a true hunter mentality
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear commercial value propositions
  • Creative, outside‑the‑box problem solver with strong analytical thinking
  • Effective communicator with strong negotiation and relationship‑building skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating cross‑functionally
  • Willingness to travel within the U.S. for customer visits and industry events
