About our client
I'm recruiting for a UK utilities and energy services business that helps organisations cut energy costs, carbon and complexity. Following continued growth, they're expanding their commercial team and need a seasoned hunter to win major Industrial & Commercial (I&C) clients.
The opportunity
A senior new business role selling my client's Utility Management services: procurement, bill validation, management, data analysis and metering operations. You'll own the full sales cycle, from prospecting through to close and handover, leading complex, high-value deals with senior decision-makers and board-level stakeholders, with support from a dedicated lead generation and marketing team and technical experts.
Reporting to the Head of New Business, you'll work remotely with flexibility on location, but you'll be comfortable travelling to client sites and industry events as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Win and lead large, complex I&C opportunities for the Utility Management services
- Build and manage a strong pipeline, supported by the business generation and marketing teams
- Lead the sales process from first conversation to contract award, including negotiation at senior and board level
- Develop consultative, value-led proposals with the technical experts
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with senior leaders across a range of sectors, including retail, hospitality and manufacturing
- Represent the business at client meetings, events and networking opportunities
- Share best practice with the wider commercial team and contribute to new business strategy
- Maintain accurate forecasting, CRM records and pipeline reporting
About you
- A proven senior new business "hunter" with a consistent record of hitting and exceeding substantial targets
- Third Party Intermediary (TPI) experience is essential, and a utilities background is strongly preferred
- A track record of winning and closing large, complex contracts, well above £500k in annual revenue
- Confident engaging and influencing senior leaders and boards
- Strong understanding of energy procurement, utility cost management and metering
- Excellent communication, negotiation and proposal skills
- Experience across a mix of sectors is welcome
- Willing to travel to client sites
What's on offer
- Uncapped commission with OTE of £100k+
- Car allowance (higher for EV drivers)
- Home-based and flexible working
- 25 days holiday, increasing with service (+ bank holidays), plus a buy/sell holiday scheme
- 5% matched pension contribution
- Private medical insurance and life insurance
- Enhanced family leave
- Professional development allowance
- EV car scheme and cycle to work
- Volunteer day allowance and sustainable travel days
- Annual railcard, flu jab and eye test
- A collaborative, supportive, purpose-led culture
