The Parenthood is Australia's leading advocacy organisation for parents. We campaign for policies that make Australia the best place in the world to be a parent and raise a child. Our community of more than 80,000 parents and carers is growing fast, and we use storytelling, digital campaigns and media to influence public opinion and policy.

We're Seeking the Right Person

We're looking for a dynamic and politically savvy Digital Campaigns & Content Lead to drive The Parenthood's social media presence, email communications and member engagement strategy, harnessing digital tools to grow and activate our community.

This is not a generic "content creator" role. We need someone who understands advocacy, can translate complex policy into compelling content across multiple channels and thrives at turning big-picture strategy into day-to-day digital execution.

You will work closely with the CEO, Campaign Director and our external communications agency.

Key ResponsibilitiesContent production & execution

  • Develop engaging written, visual and video content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn.
  • Manage scheduling, posting and community engagement across all channels.

Email strategy & newsletters

  • Develop and execute our email communications strategy to nurture, inform and activate our member base.
  • Write and design compelling newsletters that translate campaign wins, policy updates and calls-to-action into engaging member communications.
  • Build and manage email workflows, segmentation and automation to drive engagement and retention.

Member engagement & community building

  • Develop strategies to deepen member connection and participation across digital channels.
  • Respond to and foster community conversations across social platforms and email.
  • Identify and elevate member stories, testimonials and user-generated content.
  • Track and report on member engagement metrics and recommend improvements.

Campaign integration

  • Work with the Campaign Director to align social and email content with campaign priorities.
  • Ensure each campaign has a strong digital footprint across social, email and web that drives actions (sign-ups, petitions, donations).

Brand & storytelling

  • Ensure all content reflects The Parenthood's brand: authoritative, compelling, parent-centred, hopeful.
  • Identify opportunities to amplify member stories and elevate parent voices across all channels.

Analytics & optimisation

  • Monitor performance across social, email and web, and report on growth, reach, engagement and conversions.
  • Use insights to refine content strategy, improve open and click-through rates, and grow our membership.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in digital campaigning, political communications or cause-based advocacy.
  • Strong ability to translate complex policy issues into compelling, parent-friendly content across social and email.
  • Proven track record developing and executing email marketing strategies, including newsletters, automation and segmentation.
  • Experience building and engaging online communities and driving member participation.
  • Skilled in video editing and graphic design for social platforms (Canva or Adobe suite).
  • Excellent copywriting for digital audiences across social media, email and web.
  • Experience with social media analytics, email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp, ActionKit, NationBuilder) and performance tracking.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, nimble advocacy organisation.

What We Offer

  • A meaningful role in an organisation making real change for parents and families.
  • Flexible, part-time role (4-5 days/week).
  • Remote.
  • Salary commensurate with experience.
