Who We're Looking For

The Security Analyst 1st Line role is responsible for assisting the Security Operations Centre (SOC) with delivery of managed security services to Transparity’s customers. The primary function of the 1 st line role is to triage the incoming security and support incidents. Working with the 2 nd line and 3 rd line security analysts, the 1 st line analyst's responsibility is to rapidly review unassigned workloads to categorise, prioritise, triage and progress the incident with an aim to resolve or escalate the security incidents where appropriate.

Alongside security and support incidents, the 1st line role will also assist with and gain exposure to proactive service tasks including (but not limited to), threat intelligence, threat hunting, security posture improvement tasks, incident handling improvements, documentation and incident response preparation.

What You'll Be Delivering

  • Act as the first line of defence by monitoring SOC queues, triaging security incidents, and escalating as needed.
  • Investigate threats proactively, supporting threat hunting, intelligence gathering, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring clear, friendly communication and timely updates throughout incident lifecycles.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including process guides, ticket updates, and escalation notes.
  • Support continuous improvement, contributing to SOC process maturity and service delivery reporting.
  • Provide cybersecurity guidance to internal teams and customers, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing.
  • Commit to professional growth, meeting KPIs, completing certifications, and managing time effectively.

We think you'll be successful in this role if you have some of the following

  • Previous cybersecurity training or SOC experience preferred, with a solid grasp of core IT concepts.
  • Proficient in Windows Server and Client OS fundamentals; Linux experience is a plus.
  • Strong networking fundamentals knowledge, including firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure, and the OSI model.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a professional and approachable manner.
  • Analytical and creative problem-solver, able to stay calm under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Self-motivated and organised, with a commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
  • Eager to learn and grow, ideally holding or working toward relevant industry certifications.
