DevOps Architect, Trilogy (Remote) - $100,000/year USD
Job Description
Posted on: July 31, 2025
Are you the DevOps wizard who transforms infrastructure chaos into elegant, automated symphonies? The architect who sees beyond maintaining systems to revolutionizing them? We're seeking a rare breed of DevOps Architect – someone who gets excited by the challenge of inheriting multiple disparate technology stacks and methodically transforming them into a cohesive, resilient AWS ecosystem. While most organizations ask you to babysit a single infrastructure, we're inviting you to orchestrate a complex portfolio of acquired products, each with their own technical debt and unique challenges. You'll be the mastermind behind strategic consolidation – not just keeping services running, but reimagining how they operate together at scale with maximum efficiency and minimal cost. This role puts you in the driver's seat of our technical evolution. You'll diagnose performance bottlenecks, execute zero-downtime migrations, implement AI-driven automation, and optimize everything from databases to deployment pipelines. No bureaucratic red tape or endless approval chains – just the authority to make smart infrastructure decisions and see them through to implementation. If you thrive on complexity, find joy in creating order from chaos, and have the technical prowess to back up your architectural vision, you'll flourish here. But fair warning: if you prefer well-defined systems, single-stack environments, or need constant direction, this position isn't for you. We need a self-driven infrastructure pioneer ready to own, transform, and perfect our technical landscape. What You Will Be Doing
- Architecting and implementing complex infrastructure transformations, including strategic migrations from legacy environments to optimized AWS cloud infrastructure
- Creating sophisticated monitoring ecosystems and developing intelligent automation for system oversight, deployment workflows, and operational processes
- Taking ownership of critical infrastructure components including system monitoring, backup strategies, incident management, database migrations/configurations, and cost optimization initiatives
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Drowning in administrative overhead and status update meetings – we prioritize action over documentation
- Perpetuating technical debt – you'll be empowered to drive meaningful architectural improvements
- Navigating layers of approval for critical fixes – you'll have the autonomy to implement solutions when they matter most
- Operating within confined technical boundaries – this role demands versatility across multiple domains
- Justifying essential infrastructure investments – we recognize that strategic technical spending drives business value
DevOps Architect Key Responsibilities
- Champion reliability and standardization across our diverse product ecosystem by designing and implementing enterprise-grade monitoring systems, intelligent automation frameworks, and AWS architectural best practices
Basic Requirements
- Proven expertise in AWS cloud architecture and services (essential – experience with other cloud platforms alone is insufficient)
- Advanced programming capabilities in Python or JavaScript with a focus on infrastructure automation and tooling development
- Demonstrated success managing and migrating production-grade databases across multiple engines (MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
- Expert-level containerization skills with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
- Comprehensive Linux systems administration knowledge
