This role is central to our product development, positioned at the intersection of business strategy, client requirements, and data delivery. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including Product, Data Science, Engineering, and Analytics—to ensure our health coaching platform provides reliable, tailored, and impactful reporting to our clients. The Data Business Analyst will be responsible for managing data requests, translating business needs into technical specifications, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of data-driven outputs. - Proven experience as a Business Analyst in client-focused, data-driven environments, preferably within healthcare, wellness, or regulated industries
- Strong understanding of data flows, reporting systems, and the data lifecycle from collection through delivery
- Ability to translate complex business needs into scalable, measurable reporting solutions
- Experience defining metrics and success criteria for data products or reports
- Excellent requirements elicitation, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Product, Data Science, Engineering, and Analytics
- Experience working in agile or hybrid development environments
- Familiarity with healthcare data privacy and compliance standards such as HIPAA and GDPR is a plus
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and prioritize external data requests, acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure seamless data delivery
- Identify and proactively manage data-related risks, collaborating with security and data governance teams to address privacy, security, and integration concerns
- Translate business and client needs into detailed technical specifications and user stories for data engineers, scientists, and analysts
- Align data collection strategies with product goals and future scalability requirements, working closely with Product, Data Science, and Analytics teams
- Review and validate initial report outputs, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and business value, and iterating based on stakeholder feedback
- Develop and maintain standardized file specifications for partner data exchanges, ensuring compliance and thorough documentation
- Identify high-level business data needs and collaborate with product managers to develop clear, measurable solutions
- Gather continuous feedback from clients and internal teams to enhance reporting quality, usability, and satisfaction
- Ensure all data processes adhere to privacy standards and best practices, supporting compliance initiatives
