At 9Yards, demand for an experienced Business Analyst continues to increase across banking, financial services, superannuation and insurance organisations. While some programs in the market are winding down, our clients are actively winding up, creating an immediate need for Business Analysts who can step in and drive meaningful outcomes.

We’re seeking a senior Business Analyst to support high-impact engagements focused on operational efficiency, scalability, and value creation across complex and regulated environments. This role is location-agnostic, with opportunities available on a contract or permanent basis and immediate or short-notice start highly regarded.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Engaging with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges, objectives, and improvement opportunities
• Analysing existing business processes, workflows, rulesets, and datasets to identify inefficiencies and root causes
• Defining complex business rules, including thresholds, decision criteria, escalation paths, and orchestration logic
• Documenting current and target state processes, business requirements, and data/process workflows
• Partnering with product owners and delivery teams to prioritise and implement process improvement initiatives
• Writing clear, concise user stories and acceptance criteria to support delivery teams
• Supporting change management activities, including impact analysis and adoption planning
• Developing training materials and supporting end-users post-implementation
• Applying an automation-first mindset to ensure scalability and sustainability
• Leveraging platform analytics and process mining tools to monitor performance and identify optimisation opportunities
• Ensuring processes and datasets comply with governance, security, and regulatory requirements

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years’ experience in Business Analysis, process analysis, or business consulting roles
• Strong preference for experience within banking, superannuation, insurance or financial services
• Deep understanding of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Agile)
• Strong experience in process modelling and documentation (Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, ARIS or similar)
• Proven ability to analyse complex data, identify trends, and derive actionable insights
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills
• Consulting mindset with the ability to balance detail with outcomes
