Multiple Python Developers (Senior-Lead) – FHIR/HL7 & RiakLocation; Remote (UK Based) with rare ocassional travel to Leeds

Rate; £480-£580/day Inside IR35 (depending on Seniority)

Duration; Until the end of September & to be renewed

About the Role

We’re seeking multiple Python Developers with strong experience working with healthcare data standards (FHIR/HL7) and distributed databases (particularly Riak) to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge healthcare solutions that have a direct impact on patient outcomes and healthcare interoperability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Python-based applications that process and integrate healthcare data.
  • Work with FHIR/HL7 standards to build APIs and data exchange solutions.
  • Design and manage scalable, distributed data storage using Riak.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, product managers, and clinicians.
  • Ensure code quality, documentation, and adherence to best practices in a highly regulated domain.
  • Troubleshoot issues and contribute to continuous improvement of system architecture and performance.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven Python development experience (3+ years ideally).
  • Strong knowledge of FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) and/or HL7 standards.
  • Experience working with Riak or other distributed databases.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
  • Experience working in healthcare, HealthTech, or related data-sensitive environments.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote or agile setting.

Desirable:

  • Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
  • Understanding of data privacy and security in healthcare (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
  • Background in integrating with EHR/EMR systems.
