Data Engineer (Cloudera Data Platform)3-Month ContractRemote£80 - £100 per hour - Inside IR35 (based on a 37.5-hour working week)

A global technology business is seeking a Data Engineer to support their Platform Engineering team on a short-term contract. This team is responsible for maintaining and evolving a large-scale data platform that powers analytics across a particular area within the organisation's E-commerce website.

The platform is built on Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) on AWS, supporting critical analytics workloads and data services. You will work closely with other engineers to ensure the platform remains secure, stable and performant while supporting internal stakeholders.

This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone comfortable working in production environments, troubleshooting issues and supporting ongoing platform improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers within the platform team to support customer, security and compliance requirements
• Diagnose and resolve production issues across the data platform
• Perform upgrades, patching and routine platform maintenance
• Respond quickly and clearly to requests from internal users and team members
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies, technical discussions and ongoing platform improvements

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience working with Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) on AWS, or strong Hadoop administration experience on similar platforms
• Solid AWS administration experience
• Strong experience with one or more of the following:
• Apache Ranger
• Impala
• Spark
• Airflow
• AWS CDK
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum) using tools such as Jira and Slack
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitNice to Have

• Experience with Power BI
