Role Summary
We are looking for an entry‑level Business Analyst – Retail IT who is keen to build a career in retail business processes and enterprise IT systems. The role involves supporting requirement gathering, documentation, and testing activities across retail ERP, finance, store operations, and supply chain systems. This position is ideal for candidates with strong analytical skills, a basic understanding of retail or finance concepts, and an interest in IT‑enabled business transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support requirements gathering and analysis by working with retail business users and IT teams
- Assist in preparing Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Documents (FRD), user stories, and process flows
- Understand and document retail business processes, such as store operations, inventory, supply chain, or finance
- Support ERP or retail application implementations and enhancements
- Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams by clarifying requirements
- Assist in data analysis, validation, and reconciliation activities
- Prepare test scenarios and test cases and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Maintain requirement documentation and traceability
- Support change requests, defect tracking, and minor production issues
- Follow defined SDLC or Agile delivery processes
Required Skills & Experience
- experience (or relevant internships) in Business Analysis, Retail IT, ERP, or Finance roles
- Basic understanding of retail or financial business processes
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to document requirements clearly and accurately
- Basic knowledge of SDLC / Agile methodologies
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio (or similar tools)
Retail / Domain Exposure (Any Preferred)
- Retail store operations or POS processes
- Inventory management and supply chain basics
- Financial processes (billing, invoicing, reconciliation, reporting)
- ERP concepts (Finance, Supply Chain, Merchandising, HR)
Good to Have / Nice to Have
- Exposure to ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of SQL or data analysis
- Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, or similar
- Understanding of process mapping (UML / basic BPMN)
- Coursework or certification in Business Analysis, Retail, ERP, or Finance
