About the Role 

Reporting to the Virtual Desktop Assessing Team Manager, the Desktop Assessor will support our customers by ensuring the effective and efficient resolution of Home Claims in line with relevant Hollard policy and procedure obligations, and relevant industry and statutory arrangements and requirements.

Your duties & responsibilities

Reporting to the Virtual Assessing Team Manager, you will support our customers by ensuring the effective and efficient resolution of Home and Contents Claims in line with relevant Hollard policy and procedure obligations, and relevant industry and statutory arrangements and requirements, including but not limited to:

  • Receive and undertake virtual assessments across Australia
  • Review and provide technical advice and policy recommendations, based on expert reports received
  • Proactively contribute to the management of the customer experience
  • Determine policy entitlements and communicate outcomes to customers and claims teams
  • Arrange, review and negotiate building scopes and repair quotes
  • Provide effective claims management and settlement services, through direct and indirect customer contact.

About you

  • Must have minimum of 2 years Home Claims or Assessing experience
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance claims practices, legislation and products
  • Proven ability to interpret company policies, guidelines and procedures
  • Building and construction knowledge would be advantageous
  • Experience and confidence in customer service
  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills
  • Solid understanding of the General Insurance Code of Practice and relevant Australian insurance and financial services legislation.
