One of our established clients are looking for a Data Engineer to join them on a contract basis for an initial 6 months

The business themselves was created in 2017 and they are the national funding agency investing in science and research in the UK, operating across the whole of the UK with a combined budget of more than £6 billion

You will play a central role in enabling data‑driven decision‑making and capacity planning across the organisation, initially focused on the Operations team. The role blends modern data engineering, full‑stack development, cloud‑native architecture and advanced analytics-including AI/ML, LLMs and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation to ensure they operate with efficient, scalable and future‑ready digital capabilities.

Their toolset includes AWS hosted databases and complex ETL pipeline tools, integration platforms and integration of data for consumption by data services and data applications based on PowerBI, powerapp, and other tools as well as Node and React based web applications.

They are looking for you to have experience in the following:

• Demonstrable experience designing and deploying modern data solutions.
• Experience in application development and using MI/BI tools such as Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and Tableau.
• Proven track record of improving processes, systems and data workflows.
• Experience working with APIs, integration gateways and cloud‑based services.
• Cloud experience with AWS
• Python development skills, including data engineering and ML frameworks
